Innovation is central to our business
A strategy and talents that make all the difference!
A French family firm, Urgo is now the leader in all its reference markets and has a clear ambition to pursue its development on the international stage.
The company’s constant drive towards innovation, combined with sustained investment in research and development, production and clinical studies aimed at demonstrating the therapeutic efficacy of its products support this objective.
Urgo sets its sights on excellence, buoyed by the skills, commitment and initiative of its staff.
With three leading brands: Urgo®, France’s best-selling dressing, Humex®, No. 1 in the upper respiratory tract infection market, and Alvityl®, which tops the children’s vitamin supplement market, Urgo Consumer Healthcare continues to grow thanks to a dynamic innovation policy.
Voted most innovative OTC company in pharmacies in 2008 and revelation of the year at the BFM Awards, Urgo Consumer Healthcare has implemented an original development process designed to bring new products to market quickly. Products that are under two years old account for 22% of its total sales.
With its Filmogel® technology, Urgo is the first pharmaceutical company to have launched a range of liquid dressings:
- Urgo® Mouth Ulcers, the first dressing for the mouth, which has reached the Number 2 spot in France in just two years;
- Urgo® Skin Cracks, the leading treatment for chapped and cracked skin;
- Urgo® Damaged Nails, winner of the Direct Médica trophy for innovation in 2009 for the best retail pharmacy product launch.
A pioneer in the self-service pharmacy segment, Urgo Consumer Healthcare is recognised as the company that has best supported pharmacists in this field.
Anticipating and meeting the needs of its customers is a golden rule at Urgo Consumer Healthcare.
Internationally, Urgo Consumer Healthcare has a strong position in 25 countries and its ultimate aim is to reach the No. 1 spot in all its reference markets in Europe.
