MANAGEMENT AND PREVENTION OF INFECTION
The TLC-Silver is the combination of the unique lipido-colloid technology from Laboratoires Urgo with the antibacterial performance of silver salts.
The silver salts provide a bacterial effect on most of the microorganisms involved in secondary infection: gram + (MRSA, Staphylococcus Aureus…), Gram – (Pseudomonas Aeruginosa…), and yeasts.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
In contact with the wound exudate, the silver sulphate breaks down (Ag2S04+2 Ag+ + S04) and releases the Ag+ ion, while the Carboxymethylcellulose particles become hydrated and swell to form a surface hydrocolloidal film.
- Dissolved in this way, the silver ions join the lipido-colloidcrown of the interface in an active form that is the source of their antibacterial activity. The release of g+ from the silver sulphate and its bioavailability at the surface of the lipidocolloid interface are exudatedependent.
This controlled supply of Ag+ active substance at the surface of the TLC interface limits its loss through leakage outside the dressing, guaranteeing an antibacterial activity strictly in contact with the wound, both constant and reliable.
